My Flickr

I said I’d eventually get somewhere sorted to share all the photos I’ve been taking recently and am now very happy to report – I’ve done it! Head over here and you’ll find my flickr page, where I’ll be uploading some of my better photos as I take them.

I’ll admit there’s not much up there at the moment, but sometime soon I’ll sit down and go through the masses of photos I’ve got sat here on my laptop hard drive and upload some more.

**UPDATE**

I’ve added a flickr link to the sidebar of the site too, just to make it official.

Vandalism

I’ve mentioned before about my reservations concerning Panau’s ‘beloved’ leader Pandak Panay (his sudden rise to power shrouded in mystery) and whilst the people of Panau look unlikely to ever cross him, there are definitely those out there that aren’t happy with how things are being done here.

Recently there’s been a spate of vandalism on the island targeted specifically at the president. Huge political billboards sporting his face have had a few alterations made to them. Childish stuff, like adding a pair of comedy glasses and moustache. I managed to snap a picture of one just down the road from me yesterday.

**PHOTO REMOVED BY REQUEST**

Something tells me Mr. Panay isn’t going to like this at all.

(Edit – Looks like I was right)

A whale of a time

I managed to pick up a copy of the Panau Tribune today – a propaganda-filled rag of a newspaper that’s put together somewhere here on the island. What’s the big news? A whale has apparently washed up on the beach…

From what I can gather it’s causing quite the problem,  as no one seems to really know how to dispose of the thing. Personally, I think it’s a pretty safe bet it’ll still be there in the two or three months, just rotting. Either that or they’ll try this old approach. It really wouldn’t surprise me.

Robert.
